Fulton County police have charged two men they say pulled off a carjacking at a car wash, then led police on a high-speed chase.

Leamon Huff, 35, and Steven Reginald Brandon, 45, are charged with motor vehicle hijacking in the Sunday morning incident that began at a self-service car wash in the 5300 block of Old National Highway.

Huff is additionally charged with obstruction of an officer, fleeing and attempting to elude, reckless driving, driving without a license and failure to obey traffic controls.

About 9 a.m., Genaro Alvarado pulled into the car wash in his white 2003 Ford F150. Two men approached and one, acting as if he had a gun underneath his shirt, told Alvarado to "give it up," the police report states. Alvarado, 40, handed over his keys.

After the suspects jumped in and drove south on Old National Highway, Alvarado followed in a witness' car, police said. Officers spotted the stolen vehicle at Flat Shoals and Kimberly Mill roads.

During the ensuing chase, the speeding Huff drove on the wrong side of the road and drove so recklessly that the truck fishtailed, sending a paint can flying out of the bed, the report states.

Brandon was soon ejected from the truck. He was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Huff eventually ditched the truck and ran, but was caught in the 6800 block of Brown Drive South, police said.

Police said they had to pepper-spray Huff to subdue him.
