DeKalb County residents can recycling their Christmas trees through Jan. 18 for the county’s annual “Bring One for the Chipper” event.

Those with curbside collection can leave trees out on regular garbage days. They can also drop off trees from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Seminole Road Landfill, 4203 Clevemont Road, Ellenwood.

Crews will use the recycled trees as mulch and compost in county parks.The county also provides free compost to residents at the landfill and three other county locations.
