A 0.6 mile stretch of Duluth Highway in Lawrenceville is closed due to a gas leak, Gwinnett County police said.

The highway is closed between Sugarloaf Parkway and N. Brown Road. Police ask drivers to plan an alternate route, as the stretch of road is expected to be closed through rush hour.

Crews are at the scene attempting to repair the broken gas lines. There is no estimated time for the road to reopen.
