Niche.com, an education and real estate analysis site, uses surveys from parents, student and teachers, as well as test scores and data from the schools and the U.S. Department of Education to determine its rankings.

North Gwinnett, Peachtree Ridge, Brookwood and Parkview are all part of Gwinnett County Public Schools, which Niche ranked as the 13th best district in the state. Buford High School is the only high school in Buford City Schools, which Niche named the best district in Georgia.

Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science and Technology earned an overall A+ grade from Niche, with A+ scores for academics, teachers, health and safety, administration and college preparation. Its resources and facilities, food and clubs and activities earned A grades. Since the charter school does not field any athletic teams, it was not graded for sports.

GSMST was also named the 13th best public high school in the country by Niche. Last year, it was ranked tenth. The school was also the top ranked in state by U.S. News, which released its best high schools rankings in May.
