Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science & Technology is once again the top public high school in Georgia, based on an analysis by Niche, an online site that touts itself as "the best place to research U.S. colleges, schools, neighborhoods and companies."

The Lawrenceville school — which boasts an average SAT score of 1360 and average ACT score of 31 — is ranked No. 13 nationally. It also ranks No. 16 for STEM; No. 18 for college prep; and No. 49 for best teachers.

The No. 2 public school in the state is Johns Creek's Northview, which boasts an average SAT score of 1350 and average ACT score of 31, and is ranked No. 91 in the U.S. Nationally, Northview ranks No. 56 for college prep.

The only public high school in the top 10 that isn’t in the Atlanta area is Columbus High School in Muscogee County. It ranks No. 4 in Niche’s analysis.

The top private high school in Georgia — with an average SAT score of 1420 and an average ACT score of 32 — is The Westminster Schools. Nationally, The Westminster Schools rank  No. 26. They also are No. 5 in best Christian high schools; No. 10 in best private K-12 schools; No. 19 in college prep; and No. 28 for STEM.

The No. 2 private high school in the state is Pace Academy. Pace boasts an average SAT score of 1340 and an average ACT score of 31. In national rankings, Pace is No. 71 overall for private high schools. It also ranks No. 30 for K-12 schools and No. 98 for college prep.
