Q: How long will it take to be billed for the Peach Pass fees – is it done monthly or how often? Are out-of-state drivers billed as well? What happens if someone does not pay?

–Martha Hunt, Hoschton

A: A personal Peach Pass account is pre-paid, and bills are not issued. Personal Peach Pass accounts (which include out-of-state personal accounts) are replenished on the account holders' credit or debit card when they reach a balance of $10, Malika Reed Wilkins, spokeswoman for the State Road and Tollway Authority, told Q&A on the News in an email. How often that vehicle uses a toll facility (such as Ga. 400 electronic lanes, I-85 Express Lanes) will dictate how often the account is replenished. The initial replenishment amount is $20. After three months, the replenishment amount could change based on the customers' average three-month usage, Wilkins wrote. Customers can view their account activity by logging onto www.peachpass.com. When motorists use a toll facility, the toll is automatically deducted from their account. If there is not a Peach Pass associated with that vehicle and it enters the toll facility, the vehicle's registered owner will receive a $25 violation fee, plus the amount of the toll.
