Q: How is former Atlanta Braves broadcaster Ernie Johnson Sr. doing these days? His son has been doing play-by-play for Peachtree TV broadcasts.

-- David Matheny, Rome

A: Ernie Johnson Sr., 86, resides in Cumming with his wife, Lois. He told Q&A on the News in an e-mail they soon will celebrate their 63rd wedding anniversary. He said he has some health concerns and is unable to play golf, which was one of his favorite pastimes. He loves to read and enjoys eating out and attending family gatherings with their three grown children and five grandchildren. Johnson Sr. added that he faithfully follows his favorite team, the Braves. Ernie Johnson Jr., the Emmy-winning host of TNT's NBA studio coverage, is scheduled to broadcast 45 Braves games for Peachtree TV this season. The Johnsons teamed up to call Braves games on SportSouth from 1993-96.

Q: Does the First Baptist Church Atlanta keep records of baptisms? My husband and I were both baptized there back in late 1963 or early 1964 when it was still located on Peachtree Street downtown.

-- CeCe Cater, McDonough

A: Associate pastor Rick Taylor said First Baptist Church Atlanta might have this information, but it could depend on how long a person was a member of the church and how long their information had remained in the church's archives. He told Q&A on the News that individuals can contact the church at 770-234-8391, and the staff "will attempt to do everything we can" to find the records.
