Landing a job in tech could get you some massive paychecks, but just how much do the top tech positions pay?

Analysts at LinkedIn, collected LinkedIn data publicly available to members to determine the top-paying tech jobs in America and their benchmark salaries.

Using the LinkedIn Salary Tool, we cracked down the salaries of those top-ranked positions in metro Atlanta.

Here’s what the salaries of Atlanta’s highest-paying jobs in tech look like (and the national median average):

Data Scientist (national average: $106,000)

Median salary: $100,000

Less than one  year: $99,400

1-5 years: $99,400

6-14 years: $105,000

15+ years: Not applicable

Data Engineer (national average: $100,000)

Median salary: $85,100

Median salary: $70,700

Hardware Engineer (national average: $105,000)

Median salary: $91,500

LinkedIn Salary data also showed Atlanta as one of the highest-paying locations in the country for data scientists (No. 10), solutions architects (No. 7) and QA managers (No. 7).

Overall, the top-paying location in the country for tech jobs is San Francisco Bay, California, but other areas include Seattle, Washington; New York, New York; Los Angeles, California; Washington, D.C.; North Carolina; Houston, Texas and Austin, Texas.
