The Sharon Springs branch of the Forsyth County Tax Commissioner’s Office will close Saturday, Aug. 1, for renovations that are expected to take six to eight weeks to finish.

Officials said the changes will expand the lobby area and redesign customer service counters. Tax Commissioner Matthew Ledbetter said the update is designed to bring more seating and allow for additional growth and better management of customer flow. It’s the first remodeling or redesign of the branch since it opened in 1999 at 1950 Sharon Road.

During the interim, residents are being urged to make tax payments online or by mail, if possible. They’re also encouraged to visit the main tax commissioner’s office during non-peak hours, which are during the middays from Tuesday through Thursday. The main office is at 1092 Tribble Gap Road, Cumming.
