Sugar Hill continues progress toward construction of the next phase of the Sugar Hill Greenway. The Gwinnett County Board of Education recently approved easements along Level Creek Road and across school property, providing clearance for 1,200 more feet of the trail to proceed. In addition, the city has already secured approval from the Georgia Environmental Protection Division for the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit portion of the project. Next up will be permits and authorization from the Georgia DOT and Gwinnett Parks and Recreation.

The Sugar Hill Greenway is 11.5-mile greenway around the city that will contain approximately 16.5 miles of trail. The paved path trail will be shared by pedestrians, bicyclists, wheelchair users, joggers, and other non-motorized users.
