Spring means it’s time to fill out your garden. Whether you’re working with a few flower pots or a sprawling backyard, the Gwinnett County Master Gardeners Association has you covered.

The organization is holding its annual plant sale at Lilburn City hall on Saturday, April 27. A wide variety of plants will be available for purchase, including perennials, annuals, herbs and vegetables. There will also be plants native to Georgia and a selection of yard art.

The Gwinnett County Master Gardeners Association is comprised of gardening enthusiasts who have taken a 13-week horticulture course and volunteer within the community to share their knowledge and skills. The Gwinnett group works with the University of Georgia’s local extension office to provide programming to the community.

The April 27 plant sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., rain or shine. Only cash and checks are accepted — no credit or debit cards. Lilburn City Hall is located at 340 Main St.

He has been ferrying various things back and forth and is surprised he still has power. Vinings residents were dealing with a major flooding issue Tuesday, as the Chattahoochee River made its way along the banks near Paces Ferry Road.  Many residents with upscale homes were hit hard, some for the second time since an earlier post millennia flooding episode. Since early Monday, seven lives have been taken and several other people remain missing. The record-setting rains also have closed schools and roads and have left people stranded in their homes. The river's level near Vinings was at 27.36 feet before daybreak Tuesday after cresting at 28.1 feet overnight. Flood stage is 14 feet, and anything above 20 feet is considered "major" flooding.
