Smyrna requesting ZIP code change

The Smyrna City Council agreed 7-0 Tuesday to ask the U.S. Postal Service to change the ZIP code for Smyrna residents who now have the Mableton ZIP code of 30126.

Those Smyrna ZIP codes are 30080 or 30082 with 30081 serving post office boxes in Smyrna.

Councilman Ron Fennel said he proposed this change as a follow-up to efforts initiated by late Councilman Pete Woods, his predecessor for Ward 7.
