A new mixed-use development is coming to Reynoldstown.

Construction of Modera Reynoldstown has begun in the "up-and-coming Reynoldstown neighborhood," developer Mill Creek Residential announced Monday.

The five-story building will include 320 apartment homes with studio, one-, two- and three- bedroom offerings, plus 18,400 square feet of retail space on the street level. It will also have a 477-car, six-story parking deck and 24 surface spaces.

Ground broke on the project at 780 Memorial Drive SE in June, and the development is slated for completion in September 2020.

Mike Greene, vice president of development at Mill Creek, promoted its “location and walkability,” citing its proximity to the Atlanta Beltline, King Memorial MARTA station, historical attractions and I-20.

“As an Atlantan, the recent growth in Reynoldstown has been fun to watch, and our team is looking forward to being a part of its continued advancement as a cultural, culinary and retail hub in the city,” Greene said in a statement.

Amenities include a coworking lounge, coffee bar and fitness studio, yoga room and spin mezzanine, along with a club lounge with a hidden speakeasy located behind a pivot door. There will also be areas for bocce and shuffleboard,  a 100-foot dog run and a bar made from a shipping container. Custom murals and commissioned pieces from artists from or based in East Atlanta will be displayed in the building.

Mill Creek has replicated similar developments in MidtownSandy Springs and Vinings, and two are under construction in Buckhead, on Peachtree and Lenox roads. Starting rents at the Midtown property range from $1,715 for a studio to $4,070 for a three-bedroom; rents haven't been announced for the Reynoldstown location yet.

Here's what an 'average' house looks like in Georgia According to a recent Trulia roundup, the average house in Georgia has a great deal of amenities. Trulia bases its "average" house in list off of the median list price in each state, which is $265,000 in Georgia. For that price point, you can buy a home like this 2,244-square-foot house with three bedrooms and two baths in Marietta. It features granite counters in its kitchen, a spacious living room and a charming sunroom.
