Residents and business owners in Sandy Springs can soon begin using the city name with the ZIP code 30338.
Mayor Eva Galambos has been pushing for the city to have officially designated ZIP codes as another way to set Sandy Springs apart from Atlanta.
Residents can begin writing 30338 as a Sandy Springs address on June 1. The ZIP codes 30342, 30350 and 30328 already have been designated for Sandy Springs.
Despite the designation, the U.S. Postal System will continue to default to Atlanta as the city designation for 30338 ZIP code.
