The Salvation Army Angel Tree Program will help 584 families in Douglasville have a happy Christmas.

Families who were pre-qualified will receive gifts on from 9 a.m. until noon Dec. 21 at Douglasville First United Methodist Church, 6167 Prestley Mill Road.

The Angel Tree program, which was founded in 1979 by The Salvation Army, provides gifts to children, their families and senior citizens .

As part of the gift-giving event, Jordan and Emily Hylton, who were recently married, decided that rather than receiving wedding gifts, they would work with The Spokes Group-Atlanta  help buy bicycles for 178  children this Christmas.
