Some new parents out there may not know how to properly install a child’s car seat.

Everyone’s a rookie at this at least once, right?

But the Roswell Fire Department is hosting a free event that will give new parents a peace of mind.

On Saturday, May 5, from 9 a.m. to noon at Fire Station 4, child passenger safety technicians will inspect car seats for free, to ensure they are properly installed.

Fire Station 4 is at 1400 Old Alabama Road. No appointments are necessary.

Folks coming to get their car seats checked will also be reminded of the importance of registering car seats with the manufacturers so they can be notified in the event of a recall.

The event is free and open to all parents and caregivers. It is sponsored by Safe Kids North Fulton, Carl Black GMC and the Georgia Department of Public Health.
