Promising improved and more efficient service and a reduction in the number of missed pick-ups, the Roswell City Council has approved changing the dates of collection for curbside yard waste for certain residents.

Currently, about 41 percent of the city’s yard waste is collected on Monday, according to a staff report to the council. Advanced Disposal had proposed changing the days of collection for about 6,500 addresses, affecting roughly one-quarter of Roswell residents.

The change means 20 percent of yard waste will be collected on Monday, and 20 percent on Tuesday, as opposed to a respective 41 and 10 percent before the change, staff said. Yard waste pickups on Wednesday through Friday also would change somewhat, with collections evened out to a range of 18 to 21 percent per day over five days of the week.

The change takes effect April 1. Community Relations will post revised route maps on the city's website: https://www.roswellgov.com/home
