Crime Stoppers Greater Atlanta is offering a cash reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the people responsible for the shooting death of a Marietta High School student.

Jalante Brown, 17, was found dead on the Fourth of July inside his home in the 1300 block of Penny Lane in Marietta, Cobb County police said.

Brown suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene, police added. Cobb police have not released any details about the shooting.

Brown was a student at Marietta High School. In a statement, Marietta City Schools Superintendent Grant Rivera said, “On behalf of the Marietta City Schools staff, I express our sincere condolences to the family of Jalante.”

According to his obituary, the 17-year-old is survived by his parents, several siblings, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other friends and family members.

Crime Stoppers did not release an exact amount of the reward. Anyone with information about the shooting or the suspect is asked to call 404-577-TIPS (8477) or visit www.StopCrimeATL.com. Tipsters do not have to provide their names or any other identifying details to be eligible for the cash reward.
