At the Silver Dragon restaurant in Conyers, an employee transferred cooked rice from a large bowl to a small metal pan with bare hands during a routine health inspection. Another employee was seen cutting broccoli taken directly from the box without washing it. The rice and broccoli were discarded.

Points were also taken off because several live roaches were observed in the kitchen area. A pest control service had already been scheduled to treat the facility, according to the inspection report.

Silver Dragon, 1889 Highway 138, Conyers, scored 43/U, its third failing health score in a two-month period. The restaurant scored 59/U in late July, followed by 83/B and 60/U in August.

Among other code violations, food contact surfaces needed cleaning. Old food debris was observed on the spice cart, wok station, around the prep top cooler, shelves and fryers.

Also, numerous clean pans, plates and utensils were dirty with food debris. The microwave was charred on the inside and needed replacing, the inspector said.

Multiple dented cans were stored on shelves, ready to use. Multiple oil and spice containers on the spice cart were not labeled properly. A metal pan was being used to collect leaking water inside the walk-in freezer, according to the report.

Silver Dragon will be re-inspected.
