A raccoon picked up by DeKalb County Animal Services earlier this month tested positive for rabies, officials announced this week.
The raccoon attacked a dog at a home in the 3900 block of Garfield Drive on March 3. The dog was treated at an animal hospital.
The resident brought the deceased raccoon in to the animal facility. Spokeswoman Suzanne Forte said the dog is fine, fully vaccinated and on a home quarantine for 45 days.
