A section of the Atlanta Beltline’s Eastside Trail remains closed Friday while city workers complete repairs on a sinkhole.

The trail was closed Wednesday just north of Krog Street Market and south of Montag Circle. The city’s Department of Watershed Management was called to assess the problem and determine what repairs were needed, according to authorities.

Officials with the Beltline do not know how long the closure will last. A detour is in place for users east of the trail along Sampson Street and Highland Avenue and west of the trail along Lake Avenue.

Crews are working to repair a sinkhole that formed near the Ladybird Grove & Mess Hall restaurant along the trail, according to Channel 2 Action News.

All businesses remain open and accessible from streets while this portion of the trail is closed, officials said. Updates on repair progress will be provided at beltline.org.
