ORIGINAL STORY: O'Shucks.

That's the suddenly apropos name of a popular Gwinnett County seafood restaurant that failed its recent health inspection, with officials noting several improperly stored foods, dirty drink nozzles and an "inadequate" cleaning solution.

The restaurant at 3939 Atlanta Highway in Loganville — formally known as O'Shucks Seafood and Grill — received a 69/U on its Thursday inspection.

According to the inspector’s report, raw beef was stored over raw fish, raw chicken was being kept “directly on top of bacon” and raw eggs were being stored over ready-to-eat sauces. “Several containers” were not properly labeled.

“Observed drink nozzles to the beverage dispenser and lemon slicer with food debris,” the report said.

Multiple food items were kept past their disposal date as well.

A follow-up inspection will be completed within 10 days of Thursday’s evaluation, officials said.

An O'Shuck's employee who answered the phone Friday afternoon said no one was available for comment.
