Police on Friday announced they are seeking the public’s assistance in finding a vehicle that may be linked to the murder of a Hall County girl.
The body of Hannah Truelove, 16, was found Aug. 24 in a wooded area behind Lake Lanier Club Apartments, where she lived with her mother, police said. The Gainesville High student had been stabbed multiple times.
Investigators said Friday they are now looking for a late 1990s to early 2000s four‐door passenger car, possibly a Chevrolet or Dodge, that may have been in the area of Lake Lanier Club Apartments during the evening hours of Aug. 23. The car is light silver in color, with substantial front end damage and a driver’s door that is either white or a lighter shade of silver, police said.
Investigators believe the occupants of the vehicle may have important information that will help the investigation.

Previously, officials have said Truelove was likely killed by someone she knows. Before her death, she posted a message on Twitter that said she was being stalked.
Hannah’s father, Jeff Truelove, said his daughter showed no sign of impending danger.
Hannah lived in the gated apartment complex with her mother, but her father, who lives in nearby Jackson County, said that if he had heard any worries, “she would be out here with me.”
Hannah’s neighbors said they saw the brown-haired, blue-eyed girl walking toward the picnic tables at the apartment complex at 4 p.m Thursday, where she was often seen relaxing and sending tweets. But her last tweet came hours before at 1:32 p.m. It said, “ummm yes ma’am.”
Other neighbors placed her there as late as 7:30 p.m. Hannah’s body was found the next day about a quarter mile from those tables.
The case remains under investigation by the Hall County Sheriff’s Office and the GBI.
