Police ID pedestrian struck, killed in Lilburn

April 8, 2013

With the help of his family Tuesday, Lilburn police positively identified the pedestrian killed Sunday while crossing a road.

Police are not releasing the name of the Lawrenceville man until other family members have been notified, they said.

The man was struck by a vehicle while walking across the roadway near the 500 block of Pleasant Hill Road and Burns Road about 8:45 p.m. Sunday, police said. He was taken to Eastside Medical Center, where he died.

The driver will not be charged, police said.

A receipt in the man’s possession led police to the Walmart in Duluth, where they recovered surveillance video of the man parking a red pickup truck and entering the store.
