Madison Yards, a major residential-commercial makeover of the Leggett & Platt industrial site on the Atlanta Beltline in southeast Atlanta, appears to be getting a Publix.

An application recently filed with the city describes plans for a new 55,655-square-foot Publix. The estimated construction cost is $5 million.

A spokeswoman could not confirm the plans, saying the company only comments on sites where a lease has been signed.

The filing indicates that plans for a parking deck will follow.

Fuqua Development sought the rezoning in July 2016 of the 17.5-acre site at 905 Memorial Dr. SE in Reynoldstown to allow 400 multi-family units, 200 senior units and 130,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space anchored by a grocery store.

The project also will offer a theater, health club, parking in multiple on-site decks and retail space along the Beltline featuring two-sided glass storefronts, according to a Fuqua website on the development.

A location of Local Pizzaiolo has reportedly signed a lease at Madison Yards.

Elsewhere in Atlanta, a 45,600-square-foot Publix, located at 2275 Marietta Blvd. NW, opened in late spring.
