Gov. Sonny Perdue has named Atlanta lawyer Sherry Boston as DeKalb County's new solicitor.

Boston, 36, was appointed to the position because the former solicitor, Robert D. James, is now the county's district attorney. Boston also serves as a judge on the DeKalb Recorder’s Court and the Dunwoody Municipal Court. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Villanova University and her law degree from Emory University.
