After two years of review, Peachtree City has updated its impact fee collection and distribution process “to meet projected growth and service level demands throughout the city.” The City Council voted 5-0 last Thursday to accept the new fee schedule, which reduces commercial and industrial land use charges but increases those related to residential construction. The funds help pay for fire and police department services, as well as recreation needs. The council also unanimously approved a related amendment to its Capital Improvements Element, which is required for the city to maintain its status as a Qualified Local Government with the Georgia Department of Community Affairs.
