A busy block of Memorial Drive, located on the stretch between Oakland Cemetery and the restaurant Home Grown, will close due to an emergency repair on a sewer line.

Memorial Drive will be closed between Pearl Street and Chester Avenue in southeast Atlanta beginning at 7 a.m. Wednesday. It will remain closed 24-hours a day until the repair is complete in about three days, a press release said.

Crews will repair a hole that formed at the top of a 42- by 48-inch brick sewer main.

• Eastbound: Turn right on Pearl Street; left on Old Flat Shoals Road to Chester Avenue; left on Chester Avenue; right back on Memorial Drive to continue east.

• Westbound: Turn left onto Chester Avenue to Old Flat Shoals Road SE; right on Pearl Street; left on Memorial Drive to continue west.
