One last extension approved in police service negotiations

The ongoing talks between Henry County and Stockbridge officials regarding police services in the city will last until Aug. 4 at the latest, after which the matter will go to mediation if there is no agreement. The Board of Commissioners voted July 7 to extend the deadline for updating its service delivery agreement four weeks until the board’s first meeting next month. Stockbridge is the only city in the county that does not have its own police department. The two sides are far apart on how much they think Stockbridge should pay to have the Henry County Police Department continue providing the service.
