A Swiss electronics company is relocating a manufacturing facility to Gwinnett County and adding 93 new jobs.
Elma Electronic announced the new facility from their headquarters in Switzerland on Wednesday. The manufacturing site, planned for Lawrenceville, is expected to open in July.
The facility will be a hub for Elma’s Optima Stantron products, which are used for industrial and defense purposes, according to a release from Partnership Gwinnett, a private-public economic development group. Elma makes products including circuit boards, cooling fans and monitoring circuits designed to be used in “harsh conditions” including those regularly encountered by the military and in industrial workplaces.

“Advanced manufacturing is one of Gwinnett’s target industries and Elma represents a leader in this sector. We’re excited to see them grow in Gwinnett and continue their legacy of proven solutions,” said Deven Cason, senior project manager at Partnership Gwinnett, in the release.
The new Lawrenceville facility will also consolidate the company’s cabinet and enclosure operations, which were originally based in California. Elma’s U.S. headquarters is in Fremont, California.
Information was not available Wednesday evening regarding how much the new jobs would pay or whether economic incentives were offered to the company.
“Gwinnett County is proud to foster a business environment that brings new business, as well as allows existing businesses to thrive and expand,” said Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners Chairman Charlotte Nash in the Partnership Gwinnett release. “We’re pleased to see this significant investment in our community and the growth of quality jobs.”
Elma previously acquired the Lawrenceville company Optima EPS in 2004 and has existing operations in Lawrenceville. About 75 people currently work there, according to Partnership Gwinnett.
