A hotel located about half a mile from the Mercedes-Benz Stadium will celebrate its grand opening on Thursday.

The 104-room Clarion Inn & Suites is a franchise location of Choice Hotels that is owned through H.J. Russell & Company, the real estate development and construction company founded by the late Herman J. Russell.

The hotel is part of the new Russell Hospitality Campus at Castleberry Hill, which includes Paschal's Restaurant and the Loft at Castleberry Hill event space. The Russell empire is also involved in the ownership and management of those two venues, according to a press release.

The Clarion includes a hot breakfast for guests and offers in-room dining for lunch and dinner, with delivery services by Paschal's — the Southern restaurant famous for its fried chicken and history. The hotel is located at 186 Northside Drive SW, which formerly belonged to Castleberry Inn.

Herman J. Russell, the entrepreneur and philanthropist who turned a small plastering firm into one of the nation's most successful African-American-owned real estate development and construction companies, died in 2014. The Atlanta business icon counted Martin Luther King Jr. and a number of U.S. presidents as friends.
