A Shoppers World department store opened this week near The Mall at Stonecrest.

The 32,000-square-foot store is the newest anchor tenant at Stonecrest Marketplace, a large shopping center located at 8100 Mall Parkway.

Shoppers World, founded in Baltimore in the 1930s, sells casual and dress wear, school and work uniforms, shoes, and home decor. The Stonecrest location is the third metro Atlanta location for the brand; Shoppers World also has stores in Morrow and Fayetteville. It operates 40 stores nationwide.

“We have had the strongest grand opening in Stonecrest as our third Atlanta location,” Sam Dushey, the president and CEO of Shoppers World, said in a statment. “We look forward to serving the Lithonia community for many years to come!”

Other stores at Stonecrest Marketplace include Marshalls, Ross, and DSW. Big Lots and a Babies "R" Us store at the shopping center recently closed.

Mason Asset Management owns the land and leased the space to Shoppers World. Namdar Realty Group will manage the property.
