New Burger King aims to be part of Kennesaw State community

Burger King may not be the first place that comes to mind when one thinks of community involvement.
But a new location that opened across the street from Kennesaw State University this summer has taken steps to be more than just another drive-thru restaurant.
Because of the location's proximity to KSU at 3280 Barrett Lakes Blvd, the GPS Hospitality-owned Burger King is making a concerted effort to tie to the college community, a spokesperson said.
The location offers rewards cards for students, a weekly student night every Tuesday with discount deals and is sponsoring the 680 The Fan/ESPN Radio 1230 halftime show during football season this year.
And after The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that KSU opened housing for homeless students last month, GPS contacted us offering to donate $100 gift cards to students in need. Fifteen gift cards were distributed to KSU's CARE Center.
The Kennesaw location, which had a grand opening Aug. 9, marks GPS Hospitality’s fourth all-new Burger King to open in Georgia since the company was founded in 2012. A Suwanee location at 3141 Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road opened in June.
