Next month, DeKalb County will have a brand-new amphitheater along with walking trails and gardens.

Rainbow Park, located on Rainbow Drive in South DeKalb, can seat up to 1,000 people in the open-air amphitheater, the county said in a statement. The park will also feature open meadows and gardens.

The public is invited to attend a groundbreaking on Monday, July 1 at 10 a.m. at 3171 Rainbow Drive.

The amphitheater will be used for live music performances, movies in the park and other county-sponsored events.
