Daily lane closures on Ga. 316 near Gwinnett will continue “for several weeks,” Georgia Department of Transportation officials said.

The closures — necessitated by work on a new interchange at Ga. 316 and Ga. 81 near Bethlehem — will  take place between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Crews will remove the existing shoulders and paving between Carl Bethlehem and Harry McCarty roads.

The paving will create a temporary traffic shift to allow future work on new interchange ramps.

Drivers are urged to slow down while passing through the work zone.

On the other end of Gwinnett, overnight and weekend lane closures on Ga. 316 between Ga. 120 and Collins Hill Road are expected to end soon.

Anyone who believes they may have been exposed can get a free hepatitis A immunization, regardless of insurance status, at any Gwinnett County Health Department location.
