A Gwinnett County Thai restaurant had its permit suspended after a recent health inspection turned up mold and several other violations, officials said.

Thai Taste, located at 1009 U.S. 78 in Loganville, got a 65/U on the Thursday afternoon inspection.

The inspector reported finding a "black mold-like substance" in the restaurant's ice machine and "multiple packages of raw beef and raw chicken" stored over ready-to-eat curry and peppers.

Several foods were also being kept at improper temperatures.

"The food service has been suspended due to inadequate refrigeration ... and 3 consecutive repeat violations on a routine inspection for management knowledge of the employee health policy," the inspection report said.

Calls to the restaurant went unanswered Friday morning. A follow-up inspection will be completed within 10 days of Thursday's failing evaluation.
