A mobile health clinic for children is coming to DeKalb County this week.

The "Kids'-Doc-On-Wheels" will host a ribbon-cutting outside Fairington Elementary School in Stonecrest on Tuesday morning.

The clinic will offer pediatric health services including physicals, immunizations, allergy treatments, and telemedicine services, according to a statement from Peach State Health Plan, which is partnering with Kids’-Doc-On-Wheels ahead of the 2019 school year. The mobile unit fits two exam rooms, a restroom, a lab and a waiting area for patients.

“By meeting families directly in their community we can provide a trustworthy and convenient healthcare experience and empower patients to take charge of their health,” Pam Shipley, the interim president and CEO of Peach State Health Plan, said in a statement.

Fairington is located at 5505 Phillip Bradley Dr. The clinic is expected to open at 9:30 a.m.

The clinic plans to make other stops over the next few weeks and throughout the school year, including a stop in Macon on Thursday. It is expected to come back to Stonecrest later this month, when it sets up at The Hills at Fairington at 5959 Fairington Road on July 22.
