Milton city officials are encouraging residents to give the Milton High School football team a rousing send-off Wednesday, Dec. 12, as it leaves for Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta for the Georgia High School Association finals.

The Milton Eagles will play Colquitt County for the 7A trophy in the North Fulton school's first state championship game, officials said. The community is encouraged to line the sidewalks along Birmingham Highway with posters, signs and shakers to cheer the team, cheerleaders and band. Information: https://bit.ly/2RN06Lc

Parking will be available at Crabapple First Baptist Church and Crabapple Crossing Elementary School. Fans must be parked and in place no later than 5:15 p.m. Milton police will temporarily close Birmingham from the high school to the Crabapple Crossroads intersection at Mayfield and Crabapple roads. Buses will depart the school promptly at 5:30 p.m. with a police escort.

Game kickoff is 8 p.m. Tickets are $22 and will be on sale at Milton High between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday.

Tickets also will be available the night of the game for $29.50.
