A McDonald’s near Austell failed a recent health inspection.

The restaurant attached to the golden arches at 843 Thornton Road in Lithia Springs, right on the Cobb-Douglas county line, scored a 67/U on its Wednesday health check.

According to the report, there was food debris throughout the kitchen and several employees who didn’t have their hair restrained as required.

The inspector also observed a “soiled” ice machine, the report said. There was “black material” inside the machine.

A supervisor, who didn’t identify herself, answered the eatery’s phone Friday and said everything was fixed but wouldn’t specify what had been done.

That supervisor said a director of operations would call The Atlanta Journal-Constitution back with specifics, but that hadn’t happened as of later that afternoon.
