Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms announced recently that Marva Lewis will serve as Chief of Staff. In this role, Lewis will provide advice and guidance to the Mayor on legislative and policy issues and serve as a liaison to the public and private sectors in fostering partnerships and the development of revenue generating initiatives. The Office of the Chief of Staff also provides supervision and policy direction over external affairs and international relations, constituents services, communications and human services, as well as special events and special projects.

Lewis brings more than 15 years of extensive experience in human resources including talent management, employee relations, and change management to the position.

Prior to joining the city of Atlanta, Lewis served as Vice President of Human Resources for Cousins Properties. In that role, she developed and implemented all human capital strategies aligned to supporting the growth of the Cousins organization.

Lewis also served as Global HR Initiatives Leader for Equifax Inc. As a key member and contributor on the senior HR leadership team, she provided strategic direction on global change management initiatives including administrating execution across 18 countries and for over 7,000 employees. At Equifax Inc., Lewis also served as Assistant Vice President of Global Talent Acquisition where she streamlined the strategy, development, and execution of all recruitment functions.

Lewis received a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Francis Marion University and holds a Master of Science degree in Human Resources from Central Michigan University.
