Registration is underway for the Marietta Police Department’s “Rape Aggression Defense” (R.A.D.) course for female high school seniors.

For a cost of $10, the R.A.D. course will take place from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on April 8, 10, 15 and 17 at the Marietta Police Department.

Parents will need to attend the first hour to complete the paperwork if the student is under the age of 18.

R.A.D. techniques are designed to be quick and effective in delivering pain to vulnerable locations on the attacker’s body.

The course is designed so that women of all fitness levels will learn options to escape attacks.

Participation in all four classes is necessary to complete the course.

The course will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.
