Popcorn and other movie snacks can be expensive.
Maybe that's why a man attempted to rob an Acworth movie theater Monday afternoon.
A man handed the cashier at NCG Theater on Cinema Drive a note stating he had a gun, but he never pulled out the weapon, according to Major Wayne Dennard with Acworth police. The man fled before he could get any money, Dennard said.
This suspect is a white male with a beard. He weighs approximately 235 pounds, is 5-feet-5 to 5-feet-8 inches tall, and was wearing a blue coat, tan pants and white shoes. The subject was also wearing a watch cap, Dennard said.
The man apparently left the scene in a beat-up, rusty sedan missing hubcaps, according to a witness.
