DeKalb County police are looking for two people after a man was shot and his girlfriend was robbed in a motel room Tuesday evening, officials said.
Officers were called to the OYO Hotel on Wesley Club Drive about 6:35 p.m. Tuesday and found the 33-year old man suffering from gunshot wounds to his lower back and right thigh, according to a DeKalb police incident report. He was taken to an area hospital and remains in serious condition.
The woman told investigators they were in the motel room when her boyfriend answered a knock at the door. The two men standing outside asked to buy some cigarettes, the report stated.
Once the victim turned around to get some, one of the suspects outside shot him twice and said, “Yeah, you know what time it is, give me all y’all (expletive),” the report said.
The woman “dumped out all the items inside her purse on the floor,” and one of the men took her cash and the keys to her rental vehicle.
One of the suspects then asked the other one, “You think we should shoot her (expletive) too?” the woman told police.
They took off in a beige Toyota sedan heading south on Wesley Chapel Road, DeKalb police spokesman J.D. Spencer said. The woman was not injured.
Police have not identified the suspects in the case, but investigators released images of two persons of interest Wednesday afternoon.
