A man kidnapped a 13-year-old girl who was standing in front of a friend’s house on a DeKalb County street and then raped her, police said.

Dale Antonio Davis, 48, is accused of approaching the girl from behind, placing a bag over the child’s head and driving her to an “unknown residence,” according to warrants. The crimes are alleged to have happened off Waldrop Road between 10 p.m. on Halloween and the next morning at 4:30 a.m.

Davis, who was out on bond in a misdemeanor family violence case, was arrested Thursday, jail records show.

The girl said she tried to fight off the man, who she didn’t know, but he wouldn’t stop, the warrants said. The rape happened at Davis’ house on Waldrop Hills Drive, police said.

The child later asked two men for help and they flagged down an officer.

Information was redacted from the probable cause section of the warrants, which typically lays out the evidence against a suspect.

Davis remained in the county jail Friday on charges or rape, kidnapping, child molestation and battery, records said. A family member reached by phone Friday declined to comment on the record.
