Four gang members involved in a notorious crime spree two years ago were sentenced to life in prison Friday, the Fulton County District Attorney's Office said.
John Phillip “Jersey” Auletta and Scott “Blood Black” Tobin were sentenced to three life sentences-plus 105 and 40 years respectively; Darryl “Mac Jones”Christmas received two life sentences plus 75 years while Kenneth “Baby Boy” Robinson will serve life plus 55 years. They were among 10 "Nine Trey Blood" members charged in a 22-count indictment on multiple murder charges in connection with three slayings and several gang-related attacks during a three-day span in Oct. 2008.
It began with the stabbing of two men, one of whom had refused to let his girlfriend leave with the gang members. One of the Bloods, Jesus Cintron, who had considered severing ties with the gang, was executed two days later. Cintron's 15-year-old sidekick, Fernando Wingfield, was also killed after pleading for his mentor's life.
Cintron's girlfriend, Charmisa Witherspoon, started asking questions gang members about her companion's disappearance, prosecutors say. She survived after a gun pointed at her head jammed, but her 17-year-old son, Devontae Jones, was gunned down as he hid in a closet. The family's dog was also murdered. Prosecutors say Robinson, 14 at the time, was the triggerman.
Rico “Mookie” Maddox, Tyeisha “Lady Tye” Marshall, Marquis “K Bang” Robbins, Omar Duncan, Darren Shaw and Derek “Montana” Davis -- charged in the original indictment -- were sentenced separately.
