A 35-year-old Lawrenceville man was killed early Sunday when his car ran off a Lilburn road and hit an iron fence, Gwinnett police said.

Arnulfo Barrera was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which occurred about 4:15 a.m.

Barrera was heading north on Lilburn Stone Mountain Road in his 1994 Nissan Sentra. Near Briggs Circle, Barrerra failed to negotiate a curve, and his car ran off the road into the fence.

No one else was in the car.

Investigators are awaiting toxicology reports to determine if alcohol or drugs contributed to the accident, police said.
