The management of Lake Lanier has issued a call for volunteer couples to serve as weekend day-use park attendants.

Volunteers would work 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays through the current recreation season, which ends in September, according to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. They must clear a federal background check and be available for all weekend two-day shifts, as well as three-day holiday shifts on Independence Day and Labor Day.

Responsibilities include passing out information, brochures and maps; answering general questions; informing visitors of park rules; performing parking space checks to ensure a day use park does not exceed capacity; and closing the park when it reaches capacity.

Among other attributes, “ability to speak (is) Spanish highly desired,” the Corps said. Volunteers will be provided a trailer/RV pad with water, sewer and electric hook-ups.
