The Atlanta Regional Commission presented a Developments of Excellence Award to the Lee Street Park and Amphitheater in Jonesboro last month. The commission acknowledged the park’s Livable Centers Initiative for transforming the formerly underutilized 5.7 acre park into a vibrant tourism attraction in Jonesboro.

Each year the ARC awards a local city for its LCI programs and provides grants for communities which succeeds in developing tourist friendly and family welcoming attractions in any of the ten county region surrounding Atlanta.
