Former Georgia Tech basketball player Javaris Crittenton charged in homicide.

Former Atlanta high school basketball star and Georgia Tech guard Javaris Crittenton was charged with homicide by Atlanta police. Police say he shot a 22-year old woman to death in southwest Atlanta last week.

Julian Jones, a 23-year old mother of four, was killed in a drive-by shooting on Aug. 19. A murder warrant in the slaying has been issued for former Georgia Tech basketball player Javaris Crittenton.

Police say they believe Crittenton fired shots from a black Chevrolet Tahoe. They also say he might have been seeking retaliation after being robbed in April.

Javaris Crittenton (at his draft party in 2007) was picked 19th in the first round by the LA Lakers. He was traded to Memphis as a rookie.

Javaris Crittenton, once a celebrated basketball recruit from Southwest Atlanta Christian, was named AJC Mr. Basketball before heading to Georgia Tech.

At Southwest Atlanta Christian, Javaris Crittenton was a part of two state championship teams including playing alongside future NBA star Dwight Howard in 2004. As a senior in 2006, Crittenton led his team to a Class A title.

Among his high school accomplishments, Javaris Crittenton played in the McDonald's All-American game.

Javaris Crittenton only played at Georgia Tech for one season before leaving college for the NBA.

Javaris Crittenton, seen here in Charlotte Bobcats camp, never made it big in the NBA. He was suspended while in Washington after a gun incident in the team's locker room. He last played in the NBA D-League.
