Seven people were hurt Sunday after falling 10 feet from a collapsed deck near Marietta, according to Lt. Daniel Dupree, spokesman for the Cobb County Fire Department.

The incident occurred about 8:30 p.m. in the 3500 block of Ember Street, near Worley Drive. The deck pulled away from a wall, landing in a yard.

"It was a wooden deck that was rotted," Dupree said.

Five people were taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital, and one person with a head injury was taken to a separate hospital, Dupree said.

None of the injuries was life-threatening or critical, Dupree said.
